Demand Media buys eNom

Demand Media Inc., lead by former MySpace.com chairman Richard Rosenblatt, buys eNom. eNom is an ICANN accredited company offering world-class Internet domain name services. eNom currently ranks as the third largest domain name registrar worldwide. Los Angeles-based Demand Media will broaden eNom’s offerings by developing proprietary content tools and technologies, as well as new online advertising opportunities for eNom’s clients.

With the acquisition, Paul Stahura, eNom founder and CEO, becomes president and chief operating officer of Demand Media. Terms of the private sale were not disclosed.

Sex.net sold for $450,000

The domain name Sex.net has been auctioned off, and broke the all-time record for a .net sale at $450,000, at the largest live domain auction ever held at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada during T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Conference.
